Mwalimu Nyerere Heritage Site

Visit the birthplace and resting place of Julius Kambarage Nyerere — Tanzania's founding father and one of Africa's most respected leaders. 

The site is just minutes from the lodge and offers a rare, personal encounter with Tanzania's founding history.

Mwalimu Nyerere National Museum

The museum in Butiama tells the full story of Nyerere's life, from his early years in this very village to his role on the world stage.

A must-visit for any traveller interested in African history and politics.

Safari — West Serengeti

Being outside the main Serengeti conservation zones means you access the same incredible wildlife — lions, elephants, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe — at a significantly lower cost.

We organise safari trips directly. No middleman, no markup.

Trekking & Hill Walks

The hills around Butiama are dramatic and beautiful. Trek through rocky terrain, past ancient rock paintings, and across landscapes dotted with wildlife.

Guided walks are available for all fitness levels.
